WBC junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo and Avtandil Khurtsidze’s impressive knockout victories last Saturday night has paid off for the both of them with them getting moved up in the Ring’s ratings. Charlo (29-0, 14 KOs) has been pushed up to No.2 in the Ring’s 154lb ratings following his 6th round knockout win over Charles Hatley (26-2-1, 18 KOs) on April 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Charlo knocked Hatley down twice in the fight in dropping him in round 3 and 6.
Khurtsidze has been moved up in the Ring Ratings from No.8 to No.7 at middleweight after his 5th round knockout win over Tommy Langford.
It should be interesting to see how high Charlo and Khurtsidze go in the ratings. Khurtsidze will be fighting on July 8 against WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders in London, England. A win for Khurtsidze over Saunders would make him a new WBO world champion. Khurtsidze is fun to watch with his aggressive fighting style and his huge power. He makes every punch he throws count due to the huge power he puts on his shots.
