By Rich Cheney: Willie Monroe Jr. (21-2, 6 KOs) is none too happy about being attacked by WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunder’s 7-year-old son at Friday’s weigh-in. Monroe Jr. was kicked in the groin and in the knee by Saunders’ son at the weigh-in London.
The kid was pulled away from Monroe, but only after he nailed him twice. During the incident, Saunders showed no emotion, and made no attempt to step in and chastise his son for having hit and kicked Monroe Jr.
What was surprising is Saunders sent a Tweet defending what his son had done to Monroe Jr.
Here’s what Monroe Jr. said on his Instagram:
”I honestly thought people in London were cool but I’ve called a [expletive]..a wanker…a Latin [expletive] etc and now at the weigh ins They bring a kid on stage to punch me in the Nuts and nothing was done about it @frank_warren_official should be ashamed of himself.”
Saunders could only say this about what his son had done to Monroe Jr. in defending him on Twitter:

You can say that the boxing fans are now focusing on the Saunders vs. Monroe Jr. fight for this Saturday night at the Copper Box Arena in London, England.
Saunders will be defending his WBO middleweight title against Monroe Jr. The American can get the last laugh if he can knockout Saunders or beat him by a decision to win his WBO tile. Saunders, 28, will lose a lot of money if he gets beaten by Monroe Jr., because it will take away his chance of getting a fight against the winner of the Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady “GGG” Golovkin fight this Saturday night.
