Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo (29-0, 14 KOs) and unbeaten #1 WBC Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (18-0, 13 KOs) both made weight on Friday for their fight this Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Broolyn, New York.
Lubin is the mandatory challenger for Charlo, and this is easily the best fight on the card, which is headlined by Erislandy Lara vs. Terrell Gausha.
Showtime Boxing will be televising the card. It has 3 fights on it. Charlo vs. Lubin stands out as the best by far. The second best fight on the card if IBF junior middleweight champion Jarrett Hurd vs. Austin Trout.
Trailing the pack is the main event stinker between Lara and Gausha. That’s the walk out fight of the night. Showtime needs to get their act together and focus on the qualiy fights. Lara-Gausha is more of an off TV type of fight.
Charlo defended his title earlier this year in stopping Charles Hatley in the 6th round on April 22 in Brooklyn, New York.
Here are the weights for Charlo and Lubin:
Jermell Charlo 153.6 lb
Erickson Lubin 153.4 lb
