Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been mouthing off on social media something fierce this week, letting the boxing world know that he’s returning to the ring with a vengeance in 2018.
Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn wants to see Fury get off social media and start showing that he’s serious about his comeback by getting in the gym and training.
Fury, 29, needs to get his boxing license back from the UK Anti-Doping agency and the BBBofC before he can get back into the ring. Hearn says he’ll help him with that.
“You talk about AJ versus [Deontay] Wilder but it’s nowhere as big as AJ against Fury,” said Hearn to skysports.com. “That is a fight that can be built into something huge. Two completely different characters, two completely different styles, two undefeated heavyweights, two unified champions. An incredible matchup. But Tyson needs to get back on the horse, and show the British public he’s still serious, show the British public that he is here and back in the game. But, that doesn’t come on social media it comes from being in the gym and getting through the ropes,” said Loeffler.
At 29, Fury is looking VERY old right now. He’s got to be the oldest looking 29-year-old I’ve seen. All that good living in the last 2 years seems to have aged Fury badly. He looks more like someone in his early 40s than late 20s.
Hearn is going to be kicking himself in the backside if Fury never does make it back to the ring. he’s got to know by now that Fury has some serious issues that is holding him back. he goes through these highs and lows that mare hard to understand. Right now, Fury is on one of his highs, but you can expect him to implode in a week or two and revert to form.
